Learn how state & local transportation agencies can partner with stakeholders to design and deliver comprehensive electric transportation.

This workshop explores how Midwest communities are advancing clean, affordable electric mobility through strategic partnerships, effective community engagement, and equitable planning. Drawing on real efforts, such as bringing charging investments, promoting multimodal decarbonization campaigns, supporting municipalities through advocacy and resource-sharing, and leveraging the national Towards Equitable Electric Mobility (TEEM) framework, participants will learn how to shape electric transportation programs that reflect community needs and expand mobility options beyond EV ownership. The session will also highlight collaborative initiatives with utilities and local organizations to broaden education, engagement, and access, offering a model that communities can adapt and integrate into their own electrification efforts.

Participants will learn:

  • How your community can benefit from clean, affordable electric mobility, including charging access, multimodal options, and decarbonization strategies.
  • How to meaningfully engage residents and partners, using approaches that build trust and guide shared decision-making.
  • Best practices for centering community needs from planning through implementation.
  • Where to find additional support and resources, including TEEM guidance, statewide networks, and partner organizations
